Goa, Nov. 27 -- A picnic outing ended in tragedy at Dhade, Dharbandora, after a 15-year-old boy drowned in the river. The student had reportedly gone to the spot with four friends when the incident occurred.

Following the drowning, teams from Ponda Fire Services and Ponda Police launched an extensive search operation that continued for two days. The boy's body was recovered today, bringing the rescue efforts to a close.

Authorities are continuing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, while the community mourns the untimely loss of the young student.
