Goa, Sept. 13 -- In our continuing series on the state of Goa's road infrastructure, this edition turns the spotlight on Pernem taluka, where residents are grappling with what they describe as a "pothole pandemic." Across villages such as Morjim, Mandrem, Ashvem, Agarwada and Parsem, the condition of internal and connecting roads has deteriorated so severely that commuting has become a daily ordeal.

Locals complain that rather than resembling proper asphalted routes, stretches of these roads have turned into rough, uneven patches riddled with craters.
