India, Feb. 4 -- Pernem police have arrested an illegal Bangladeshi national who was residing in Korgao after an investigation revealed that he did not possess valid documents to stay in the country.

According to local residents, they alerted the police after learning about the man's suspected illegal stay in the area. Acting on the information, Pernem police conducted a verification drive and confirmed that the individual lacked the necessary legal documentation.

The accused has been arrested and remanded to 15 days of judicial custody, police said.
