Goa, Oct. 28 -- Farmers in Pernem taluka have appealed to the government for immediate compensation after suffering massive losses to their paddy crops due to heavy rainfall. Speaking to the media, the affected farmers said that despite submitting all required documents and forms, they have not received any assistance from the authorities so far.
"Every time we lose our crops, we fill out government forms, but no help ever comes," one farmer said in frustration. "The government tells us to continue farming, but how can we grow crops when no one pays attention to our losses?"
The continuous rains in Pernem have destroyed standing paddy crops, leaving several farmers in financial distress.
