Goa, Oct. 8 -- Panjim police have registered an FIR against Marfier Lobo, a resident of Ribandar, for allegedly cheating a Porvorim resident of Rs.29.87 lakh. The accused reportedly promised to double the victim's money through an investment scheme.

Authorities are investigating the matter, and the victim has cooperated with the police to provide details about the alleged scam.

The case highlights growing concerns over fraudulent investment schemes, and police have urged the public to exercise caution when dealing with high-return promises.
