The conflict erupted after an attack in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22, which India blamed on Pakistan, a claim Pakistan denied. India launched missile strikes on several Pakistani cities targeting alleged terrorist camps, while Pakistan responded by shooting down five Indian fighter jets and striking multiple Indian military bases.
