PORVORIM, Jan. 26 -- As announced earlier, the Opposition parties on Monday took the protests against coal from the streets to the floor of the Goa Legislative Assembly.

As Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari wound up his incomplete speech, the Opposition MLAs started slogans saying "aamka naka, aamka naka, goyant coal amka naka" holding placards and wearing black bands.

Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat criticised the Governor's speech for there not being a single mention of coal and the Mollem issues. "It is unfortunate when there is unrest in entire Goa regarding coal and Mollem, the Governor decides to give it a miss," he said.
