In a potential game-changer for Margao's long standing waste management woes, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is exploring the possibility of setting up a waste treatment plant at the Sonsoddo dump yard as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The proposal, if finalised, could bring much-needed relief to the city, which has grappled with the issue of waste disposal for several years. Sonsoddo, the site of Margao's primary garbage dump, has been a source of environmental concern and public criticism due to its mismanagement and lack of long-term solutions.
