Goa, April 3 -- A one-year-old leopard was captured in a trap set by the forest department early this morning at Harmal Nanoskar Wada, around 3 am. Forest department officials confirmed the capture and stated that the animal was unharmed.

The leopard will undergo a medical examination to ensure its health and well-being before being released back into its natural habitat within the sanctuary area. However, the release will only take place after obtaining the necessary permission from the Chief Wildlife Warden.

The forest department emphasized that such measures are essential for the safety of both wildlife and local residents. Officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely to ensure the leopard's safe return to the wild.
