Goa, Oct. 10 -- The PWD Works Division has announced a phased closure of the nearly 40-year-old Old Borim Bridge on NH-566 to carry out urgent structural repairs. The work, which primarily impacts nighttime and weekend traffic, includes replacing spherical and central hinge bearings and installing temporary support structures. Heavy vehicles will be entirely banned from using the bridge for 23 days, from 8 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025, to 6 am on Sunday, November 2. The critical repairs will be executed in four distinct phases to ensure the bridge's long-term safety.
