Goa, Oct. 30 -- Nuvem Sarpanch Freeda D'Sa, along with other panchayat members, has assured villagers that there is no plan to demolish the century-old houses in Pateapur, Nuvem. The clarification comes amid rising concerns among locals who feared demolition due to allegations of illegal constructions.

Sarpanch D'Sa stated, "We stand with the people. We have not issued any demolition notices to anyone." She further explained that the panchayat had asked complainants to provide names and numbers of the alleged illegal houses, but no response has been received so far.
