Goa, Aug. 25 -- The recovery of four bodies from separate locations across North Goa on Sunday prompted the district police to investigate these tragedies, which they registered as unnatural deaths.
Three bodies have been identified, while one remains unidentified which was found floating in the Mandovi River near Amona bridge.
In the first incident at Old Goa, the body of 62-year-old welder Tanaji Gaikwad from Kolhapur was found in a gutter near the police station. Fire and Emergency Services personnel assisted in retrieving the body. According to preliminary investigations, Gaikwad was a chronic alcoholic who frequently slept on the roadside, often near the edge of the gutter.
