Goa, Sept. 23 -- North Goa Police conducted a week-long preventive drive from September 15 to 21, resulting in 85 preventive arrests and multiple actions against public violations, officials said.

During the operation, authorities registered 50 cases related to public drinking, 258 violations under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), and 83 cases for smoking or spitting in public. Additionally, eight actions were taken against touts.

Superintendent of Police (North Goa) highlighted that the drive aimed to maintain law and order, curb public nuisance, and ensure compliance with existing regulations.
