Goa, Aug. 4 -- Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Monday assured the State Legislative Assembly that incidents like the recent arrest of Kerala-based nuns in Chhattisgarh will not be allowed to occur in Goa. Responding to concerns raised by Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao, the Chief Minister cited the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Goa as a key safeguard.
"Bhivpachi Garaj Na (There is no need to fear)," Sawant said, reaffirming that Goa respects all communities and ensures equal protection under the law. He emphasized the State's continued commitment to communal harmony and the protection of minority rights.
