India, Jan. 31 -- Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday claimed that there has been no migrant influx into the state over the last five years under his leadership. He said this was due to welfare schemes launched for Goan youth, which encouraged locals to take up employment opportunities. Sawant stated that many youth benefitted from government schemes and apprenticeship programmes, reducing the need for migrant labour. While acknowledging that migrants from other states and Nepal earlier came to Goa for jobs, the Chief Minister said the trend has now slowed as locals are filling available positions.
