Goa, March 25 -- Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai on Tuesday firmly stated that no mall will be allowed to come up at Old Goa, a heritage site, under any circumstances.

On the second day of the Goa Assembly session, Faldessai responded to reporters questioning his absence from the recent protest by stating that no one had approached him regarding the issue. However, he assured that he would raise the matter during the session under calling attention.

"No one came to speak to me about the issue, but I am aware of everything happening. We will not allow any mall to come up. The work in that area was done under the PRASAD scheme and was meant for a changing room and parking lot. We stand with the people," he said.
