The civic body is preparing for extensive restoration of the iconic building, but officials have emphasized that work cannot proceed until the fire audit is completed and necessary safety clearances are granted.
The fire audit is a crucial prerequisite, ensuring that the renovated structure will comply with modern fire safety standards and protect both the heritage value and the safety of occupants and visitors. Only after this audit and subsequent compliance measures will the INR 14 crore renovation plan move forward.
