Goa, Jan. 19 -- Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai on Sunday said that if he ever becomes the chief minister of Goa, students will not be forced to wear uniforms in colleges. Speaking at the installation ceremony of the Goa University Students Council for the year 2025-26, Sardesai said universities are not schools and young minds should not be controlled. He stressed that students must be treated as important stakeholders in the education system and given the freedom to express themselves. According to Sardesai, imposing uniforms at the college level curbs individuality and independent thinking.
