Goa, May 10 -- In a much-needed development for local healthcare, the Sub-District Hospital in Ponda has finally received the appointment of a new surgeon after a gap of three years. The move comes after sustained demands from local residents who had long expressed concerns over the lack of surgical services in the area.

The absence of a dedicated surgeon had caused significant distress among patients, many of whom had to travel to hospitals in Panaji or Margao for even minor surgical procedures. With the new appointment, residents hope for improved access to timely and quality medical care.
