Goa, March 4 -- The primary section of the grand Campal's Banyan tree, which has been relocated, is deceased; however, new growth is emerging from the base, indicating that it remains alive, according to botanist Daniel D'Souza.

In the situation concerning the banyan tree in Porvorim, tree specialist Parag collaborated effectively with traffic constables and other individuals to make concerted efforts to preserve the tree. Although the site where the tree has been relocated is not ideal, the team had to proceed with this option as the government did not offer a more suitable alternative, stating that no better land was available for the tree's needs.
