Goa, April 11 -- In a crackdown on illegal drug activity, Calangute Police arrested a Nepali national in the early hours of April 11 for possession of ganja valued at approximately Rs.65,000.

According to police sources, the accused, Nanda Ram B.K., 30, originally from Ward No. 2, Bhatte, Tulsipur, District Dang, Nepal, and currently residing at Cafe Goa Shack, Calangute, was found in possession of a greenish leafy substance suspected to be ganja, weighing 0.650 kg.

The arrest was made near Palmarinha Resort, Porbawaddo, Calangute, between 12:20 AM and 2:50 AM, following a complaint filed by PSI Vighnesh Naik. The narcotic substance was seized through a formal panchanama and preserved for further forensic analysis.
