MARGAO, Jan. 27 -- The Maina-Curtorim police on Thursday arrested 24-year-old Sticken Fernandes from Telaulim, Navelim, for allegedly raping a minor girl. The police said that the minor girl was kidnapped from the lawful guardianship of her mother. According to the complaint, Fernandes gave the victim a colourless intoxicating liquid and took her to a hotel room in Colva and raped her .
PI Ravi Dessai of the Maina-Curtorim police station said that an offence under Sections 363, 328,376 (3) 506 (ii) of the IPC, Section 8 of the Goa Children Act and Section 4 and 8 of the POCSO Act has been registered against the accused. The police said that the accused also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone....
