Goa, May 19 -- A house with mud walls collapsed during ongoing pre-monsoon preparations as the residents were repairing the roof, raising fresh concerns about the safety of aging homes in vulnerable areas.
Prakash Naik, the resident of the house, reported that his family has been living in the structure for over 40 years. "We have even won a legal case confirming our right to stay," Naik said, underscoring the legitimacy of their residence.
He further alleged that the Bhatkar family, believed to be former landlords, has been continuously harassing them to vacate the premises, despite the legal ruling in their favor.
