Goa, Jan. 2 -- A tragic accident on the Assonora-Mapusa road claimed the life of a 45-year-old man after his motorcycle collided with a bus. The deceased has been identified as Laxmikant Shettkar, a resident of Assonora. He died on the spot due to the impact of the crash.

His wife, 40-year-old Aalka Shettkar, who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.
