Goa, May 25 -- The Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) resumed operations on Saturday after a precautionary suspension lasting over 60 hours, following a cyclone formation alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) earlier in the week. The alert, released on May 21, warned of a possible cyclonic low-pressure system developing off the North Karnataka and Goa coast, prompting the MPA to temporarily halt all port activities to ensure safety.
