Goa, Dec. 11 -- Residents living near a well-known resort in Ashwem-Morjim have complained of a strong stench after the resort allegedly discharged sewage into open areas adjoining residential properties. Locals claim the foul smell has persisted for days and has even caused health-related issues in the neighbourhood. They further alleged that the resort, once owned by a former Goan politician and now leased to a Delhi businessman, has been ignoring their grievances. While the management insists that sewage tankers are used on alternate days, they blamed a recent seepage incident for the waste leaking into the open.
