Goa, May 15 -- More than 21,000 women beneficiaries of Goa's Griha Aadhaar scheme have missed the April 30, 2025 deadline to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar, leading to the suspension of their Rs.1,500 monthly financial assistance. The scheme, managed by the Department of Women & Child Development, aims to support married women, widows, and divorcees from middle, lower-middle, and economically weaker sections, helping them cope with the rising cost of living. The suspension follows the Central government's mandate for Aadhaar-based direct benefit transfers, with no extension granted for this deadline.
