India, Feb. 5 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed the India-US trade deal announced by US President Donald Trump, but there was no mention of halting Russian oil purchases in India's response. Commerce Minister Jaiswal told reporters India values its long-standing partnership with Venezuela and remains open to buying Venezuelan oil depending on commercial viability. Russia has said it has not received any communication from New Delhi about stopping oil purchases following the trade announcement. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated Russia's intent to continue developing its strategic partnership with India, stressing no change has been received from India on oil policy.
