VASCO, April 20 -- Garbage dumping site of the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) has become a safe haven for the strays cattle, dogs, eagles and crows.

These stray animals from nearby areas have made the garbage dumping site as their safe habitat. Locals passing through the road near MPT hospital have to face wrath of these stray animals that are hostile towards the passers-by.

The mixed waste which has been piled up at the waste treatment plant at Sada becomes the prime spot for these homeless animals for their source of food. Therefore, sources say now approximately 20 to 30 stray dogs and numerous stray animals, including cattle, are seen lying on the road near MPT hospital which is adjacent to the garbage dumping site.
