Goa, Sept. 13 -- The Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) has issued a public notice officially declaring its fish markets at Baina and Vasco da Gama as "Notified Fish Markets."

According to the notification, any activity involving the sale or storage of fish within a one-kilometre radius of these markets is strictly prohibited. The move aims to regulate fish trade in the region, prevent illegal sales, and ensure better hygiene and market management.

Authorities have urged vendors and residents to comply with the notification, warning that violations will attract penalties as per municipal regulations.
