Goa, Feb. 27 -- MLA Michael Lobo has raised an important issue concerning the integrity and authenticity of Goan beach shacks. In a recent statement, Lobo urged the tourism department to take immediate action against shack owners who have been found to have sublet their shacks to third parties. He emphasized that these shack licenses are intended specifically for locals to promote Goan culture, particularly through the offering of authentic Goan cuisine. Lobo's strong stance reflects his concern that the essence of Goan beach shacks is being diluted by the introduction of foreign or non-local cuisines, such as Idli-Sambhar, which, according to him, do not align with the spirit of Goan hospitality and food traditions
