Goa, Sept. 18 -- The newly launched Kolkata-Sairang Express has witnessed a surge in bookings ahead of the Durga Puja holidays, underscoring its popularity among passengers traveling between West Bengal and Mizoram. Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 13, the train began commercial operations today, September 18, and is set to play a key role in strengthening connectivity between the two states. With Durga Puja scheduled from September 28 to October 2, demand has significantly increased, and railway officials expect the service to run at full occupancy during the festive period.
