Goa, Jan. 23 -- Residents of Mirabag in Sanguem have once again intensified their opposition to the proposed Bhandara project in their area, expressing fears that the development could lead to large-scale submergence of the village.
Locals allege that if the project goes ahead, water from the Zuari river would be diverted towards the Bhandara, causing multiple parts of Mirabag to be flooded. They claim that the tidal movements of the Zuari could result in severe inundation, putting homes and key community structures at risk.
