Goa, May 27 -- A case of kidnapping has been registered by Vasco police following the alleged abduction of a 16-year-old boy from Mangor Hill. According to reports, the incident occurred last Saturday evening when the minor was reportedly taken away from the lawful guardianship of his mother by an unknown individual. The distressed mother promptly lodged a complaint with the police, stating that her son was missing and she suspected he had been kidnapped.
Acting on the complaint, Vasco police have registered an offence under Section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, which deals with kidnapping from lawful guardianship, as well as Section 8 of the Goa Children's Act, which provides for the protection of children's rights and...
