Goa, Dec. 9 -- Global tech giant Microsoft on Tuesday announced a massive investment of $17.5 billion in India for the period 2026-2029 to accelerate the country's AI adoption. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India's youth would "innovate and leverage the power of AI for a better planet".Microsoft said the investment - its largest in Asia - would support cloud and AI infrastructure, skilling, and ongoing operations, building on the $3 billion already committed earlier this year.The announcement followed Satya Nadella's meeting with PM Modi. Nadella posted on X thanking the PM for an "inspiring conversation", while Modi said he was "happy" India would host Microsoft's biggest Asian investment.
