Goa, Oct. 16 -- Tensions escalated in Assam's Baksa district on Wednesday as massive protests erupted following the transfer of five individuals arrested in connection with the death of singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore last month to a newly constructed prison.
Clashes between protesters and police left several people injured, including two who suffered bullet wounds, according to local sources. The unrest occurred outside the Baksa district jail at Mushalpur, where fans of the late singer reportedly threw stones and slippers while attempting to storm the facility.
