Goa, May 29 -- Margao Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against an unidentified individual accused of defrauding a local resident of Rs.1.77 lakh in a sophisticated online job scam.

According to police sources, the victim was allegedly lured with promises of high returns through a part-time job scheme promoted online. The fraudster, using fake identities, convinced the complainant to transfer money as part of a task-based job offer that claimed to offer payments in return for completing simple assignments.
