India, Jan. 15 -- Margao Police have arrested Mohammed Ashraf Bikkannbai, a resident of Sukhubhat, Seraulim, for allegedly being in possession of ganja worth 96,500. The arrest was made at Comba in Margao during a police operation.

According to police sources, the accused was found in possession of the contraband during routine checks, following which he was taken into custody. The seized ganja has been sent for further examination as part of the investigation.

Margao Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are continuing investigations to ascertain the source of the drugs and whether others are involved in the case.
