PANJIM, June 1 -- In a major setback to the Margao Municipal Council (MMC), the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) has ordered to keep in abeyance around 64 various works, including the pre-monsoon works worth Rs 2.5 crores, for failing to obtain council resolution for the same.
The direction has been issued based on an inquiry, which was conducted following a complaint filed by Margao citizens, led by the former chairperson Savio Coutinho, who demanded immediate cancellation of the tender process.
The DMA Assistant Account officer was directed to conduct the inquiry into the charges.
