Goa, Oct. 16 -- The Margao Municipality's recently announced scheme to grant temporary status to daily workers has come under scrutiny from critics who describe it as "like a chips packet - looks big but has very little inside."
During the last Assembly session, the government had introduced the scheme to provide temporary recognition to daily wage workers. However, concerns have arisen over the municipality reportedly collecting documents and signatures from workers on blank forms, which critics label as "totally illegal."
