MAPUSA, April 18 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Mapusa will be given preference similar to Panjim, which is given under Smart City concept, and expressed confidence that BJP-backed candidates will win in the Mapusa Municipal Council elections with majority.
On Saturday, the Chief Minister participated in election campaign of BJP-backed candidate Renuka (Rupa) Bhakta in Ward No 19 of MMC. Bhakta is facing a direct fight from former chairperson Sudhir Kandolkar.
Also present were Mapusa MLA Joshua De Souza and Convenor Rupesh Kamat.
The Chief Minister said that 20 BJP-backed candidates will win the Mapusa Municipal Council election.
