Goa, Nov. 14 -- The Mapusa Municipal Council on Wednesday pulled down an illegal temporary shade that had been erected by a contractor near a long-delayed construction site, following persistent complaints from surrounding shop owners.
The structure, meant to house labourers, had stood for several years and was accused of obstructing business activity and restricting pedestrian movement in the area. Acting on an official demolition order, municipal staff-along with a supervisor, inspector, and Mapusa Police personnel for security-carried out the removal in accordance with due procedure.
