Goa, June 11 -- Mapusa Police have detained two individuals for allegedly breaking open a godown that was previously sealed by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) at the Mapusa Sub Yard.

The godown, reportedly containing bananas suspected to be laced with a suspicious liquid, had been raided and sealed by FDA officials just ahead of the Vat Purnima festival. Despite the official seal, the two suspects allegedly trespassed and broke into the premises.

Authorities have initiated further investigation to determine the motive behind the break-in and whether the stored goods were tampered with. Legal action is being pursued under relevant sections, and the FDA is expected to conduct a fresh inspection of the site.
