Goa, Dec. 16 -- Water and electricity supply to the Mapusa Fish Market Complex may be disconnected after the Directorate of Health Services issued a notice to the Mapusa Municipal Council over unresolved public health concerns. The intimation, issued through the Urban Health Centre, Mapusa, states that serious hygiene lapses and nuisance were observed during inspections of the market. Authorities have given the municipal council seven days to rectify the issues, failing which essential services will be cut. Acting under provisions of the Goa Public Health Act, 1985, the Health Officer has directed the Water Supply and Electricity Departments to enforce the disconnection if compliance is not met.
