Goa, Dec. 24 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday released the draft electoral roll for Madhya Pradesh following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and consultations with political parties. The updated draft has highlighted significant changes in the state's voter database, triggering widespread attention from political stakeholders and civil society groups.
As per the draft roll, a total of 42,74,160 names have been deleted, while 8,46,184 voters have been identified as "unmapped." The Commission clarified that among the deleted entries, 19.19 lakh were male voters and 23.64 lakh were female voters.
