Goa, June 24 -- A sweeping investigation into a series of hoax bomb threat emails sent across 12 Indian states has uncovered a shocking case of cybercrime rooted in obsession and revenge. The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime police have arrested Rene Joshilda, a robotics engineer and senior consultant at Deloitte in Chennai, for orchestrating the threats using advanced digital tools to conceal her identity.

According to police, Joshilda's actions were driven by unrequited love and a desire for vengeance. Obsessed with a man named Divij Prabhakar, she reportedly wanted to marry him. When Prabhakar wed another woman in February 2025, Joshilda allegedly attempted to frame him by launching a campaign of digital terror in his name.
