Goa, Nov. 1 -- A community-driven initiative has brought new life to Velsao Pale Lake, once plagued by neglect and pollution. Local residents, with support from youth groups and environmental volunteers, undertook a major clean-up and desilting drive to restore the lake's natural beauty. Today, the waterbody stands rejuvenated, surrounded by greenery and attracting migratory birds once again. Inspired by the transformation, locals are urging authorities to promote the site as a tourist attraction by introducing water sports, boating, and evening illumination. They believe this will not only preserve the lake's renewed charm but also boost eco-tourism and create livelihood opportunities for villagers.
