Goa, Aug. 7 -- US President Donald Trump has escalated his trade offensive against India, announcing a steeper set of tariffs in response to New Delhi's continued purchase of Russian oil. Just hours before a new wave of duties is set to kick in, Trump declared an additional 25% tariff on Indian imports, which will come into effect in three weeks. This adds to a prior 25% tariff set to begin Thursday, effectively doubling the duty to 50% on a wide range of Indian products.
