India, Feb. 19 -- A woman was rescued from the river near Dona Paula Jetty after she encountered difficulty in the water.

Lifeguard Ramkrishna Harijan, who was on duty at the time, noticed the woman struggling and immediately rushed to her assistance. Acting swiftly, he entered the water and brought her safely back to shore.

Thanks to his prompt response and timely intervention, the woman was rescued without any reported injuries.

The incident highlights the crucial role of vigilant lifeguards in ensuring the safety of visitors along Goa's waterfronts.
