Goa, May 8 -- Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar, a 32-year-old soldier from Haryana's Palwal district, was killed in intense cross-border shelling by Pakistan's army in the early hours of Wednesday, following India's execution of 'Operation Sindoor'. The operation reportedly targeted militant positions across the Line of Control (LoC), sparking a fierce artillery and mortar exchange.
A native of Mohammadpur village, Dinesh was patrolling the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district when the attack occurred. His father, Daya Ram Sharma, confirmed that the family was informed of his death on Wednesday morning.
